Physiotherapy FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Who can benefit from Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy can benefit people of all ages and activity levels. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, improving mobility, or enhancing performance, Physiotherapy can help. It also plays a key role in preventing future injuries by improving strength, flexibility, and movement patterns.
How does a Physio decide to treat me?
Your treatment starts with a detailed, comprehensive consultation. This helps us fully understand your concern, make an accurate diagnosis, and design a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your goals.
Will I get hands on treatment during my first appointment?
Yes. We always aim to relieve your pain and discomfort as early as possible and begin addressing the root cause, not just to fix what’s happening now, but to help prevent it from becoming a longer-term issue.
The first hour is especially important. It gives us the chance to really listen, assess, and understand what’s going on beneath the surface. This thorough approach ensures that the treatment you receive is not only hands-on but also tailored to what your body truly needs – giving you the best chance at lasting relief and recovery.
Typically, hands-on therapy is combined with exercise-based treatment for the best long-term results. This integrated approach helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and build strength, so you can get back to doing what you love with confidence.

During your session, Charlie, your Physiotherapist, will thoroughly discuss the approach with you. You will then receive the detailed plan via email to support and guide your recovery journey.

With extensive expertise in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment, Charlie delivers personalised, evidence-based care tailored to your individual needs, ensuring optimal outcomes and long-term wellbeing.
How can I get the most out of my Physiotherapy sessions?
These steps might sound simple, but they are vital to achieving the best possible recovery:
Open Communication:
Your Physiotherapist will work with you to set realistic goals that support sustainable progress. It’s important to openly share how you’re feeling and any changes between sessions. Before your initial assessment, think about what information you want to share about how your condition affects you physically and mentally, and what you hope to get from your care.
Stay Committed to Your Plan:
Being involved in decisions about your treatment (including agreeing on specific goals and timelines), we find this helps you stay motivated and committed. Don’t hesitate to ask questions so you fully understand your diagnosis and the reasons behind your treatment.
Stick to Your Exercises:
Consistently completing your prescribed exercises is crucial to your recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Tune In to Your Body:
If something starts to hurt too much, it’s your body’s way of signalling to either ease off or stop. Paying attention to these cues helps prevent injury and ensures safe progress. Be sure to keep us informed so we can adjust your treatment plan as needed.
Do you accept private health insurance to cover the cost of the sessions?
Yes we accept private health insurance to cover the cost of our full range of services. We accept Aviva, Allianz, Axa, WP Medical and Vitality insurance.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No, you can simply book yourself in via our online booking system or contact us via telephone or email.

Inspiring stories of health and healing
Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Charlie paid good attention to my daughter's ongoing knee issue and checked everything out to give us peace of mind. He advised of potential causes and gave practical advice and ideas including daily exercises to help support and strengthen. Charlie was approachable, professional and thorough, especially in dealing with a child (9 years old). I would definitely use him again in the future and recommend his services. I could not recommend him more. Neil Shah2025-05-27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great treatment and assessment of my back injury very helpful with advice. Tom Clayton2025-05-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I discovered Charlie when looking for somewhere to go to help with a long standing shoulder injury… hoping I had found someone good. I had! Charlie did an excellent job getting deep into some very grumpy tissue. At the outset he did some assessments on my strength and range of motion rather than just diving in. He was also super helpful with suggesting stretches and exercises I can do to help me with continuing to keep on top of it myself. All in all, I am glad I picked Charlie for my treatment. He’s a very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful young man. If you’re looking for physiotherapy, sports massage or acupuncture and you’ve found this page, you’re in the right place. Just book your appointment! Helen Paice2024-10-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Charlie was a brilliant.
